President El-Sisi Meets President of Republic of Zimbabwe

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi stressed the importance Egypt accords to strengthening relations with Zimbabwe across various areas, particularly trade and investment, both bilaterally and within the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) grouping. This is in addition to technical cooperation, capacity-building and infrastructure support and the President's keeness to maximize coordination and consultation with President Mnangagwa on ways to strengthen African joint action, thereby contributing to the growth and stability to which African states aspire.

The president of Zimbabwe reaffirmed that his country looked forward to developing relations and advancing  cooperation between the two countries at the official and popular levels, particularly in the fields of economy and trade. He also valued President El-Sisi's active role in addressing African issues, mainly within the framework of efforts to promote development and safeguard peace and security in the continent. The president of Zimbabwe affirmed that his country looked forward to promoting integration with Egypt in order to confront the many challenges facing the continent and require joint African efforts by activating joint African action mechanisms, particularly at the African Union level.
