President El-Sisi Follows Up on the Status of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Projects

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far, Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Ashraf El-Araby, and Assistant Director of road designs in the Armed Forces’ Engineering Authority Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the construction status of the projects carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority across the country, including the axes that were lately constructed to connect the eastern and western areas of the Ring Road.

The new overpasses above the Ring Road were presented during the meeting. These overpasses connected New Cairo with its various residential complexes and eastern Cairo neighborhoods. They, as a result, helped reduce congestion, providing a considerable saving of travel time and distance.

The ongoing comprehensive development of Al-Rowaisat area in Sharm El-Sheikh was also presented. The President directed that the area be comprehensively developed for the residents. As per his Excellency’s directives, all services must be developed; the inner road network, in particular, should be enhanced and provided with all services.

The Spokesman also added that the meeting touched on the engineering designs of various projects, especially those aiming to make optimal use of vacant lands on both sides of roads and axes nationwide. The President, hence, directed that these lands be utilized.

The meeting also discussed the status of a number of projects in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) and the work progress on the roads and axes network there.

In this regard, President El-Sisi directed that the finest engineering designs be implemented and all entrances be expanded as much as possible. These designs should be in a modern architectural style and include vast green spaces.
