President El-Sisi Follows-up on Land Reclamation Projects in Toshka

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Major General Hisham El-Swefy, the Director General of the National Service Projects Organization, NSPO, Major General Walid Abul Magd as well as other officials.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting followed-up on progress in the implementation of land reclamation projects in the South Valley in Toshka.

The meeting reviewed steps undertaken in Toshka development projects, in collaboration and coordination with the various relevant government authorities. This included cultivated areas and those planned to be reclaimed. The discussions also touched on efforts to provide water resources and the necessary infrastructure to support the projects, particularly with regard to giant lifting stations, water networks, pivot irrigation devices and canal lining. This is in addition to industrial and engineering work currently underway by government authorities.

President El-Sisi gave directives to ensure the integration of work mechanisms among the state’s relevant sectors in order to add new areas to the reclaimed agricultural land in Toshka and develop the irrigation systems and agricultural methods that are commensurate with the nature of the area.
