President El-Sisi Receives Telephone Call from the President of DRC

This evening, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a telephone call from the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Mr. Félix Tshisekedi.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the call touched on a number of issues pertinent to cooperation between the two countries. The two presidents also exchanged views on developments related to top African issues of mutual interest.

President Tshisekedi confirmed that his country values the close cooperation ties with Egypt, which supports DRC’s development efforts. He affirmed his country’s keenness to continue boosting trade exchange and economic relations with Egypt in order to be commensurate with the outstanding political relations between the two countries.

President El-Sisi lauded the significant progress in the bilateral cooperation fields with the DRC, whether at the level of political coordination and consultation or economic cooperation. This reflected on development and investment cooperation between the two sides, especially in the fields of infrastructure, digital transformation, construction, energy and water among others.
