Attending the meeting were also the Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, the Advisor to the President for Financial Affairs, and the Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

The meeting reviewed work progress in infrastructure projects and facilities which are currently being implemented in the New Administrative Capital and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The President stressed the need to develop an integrated plan on the management system and maintenance of the districts and facilities in the New Administrative Capital, particularly the central region, the government district and the various public facilities, so as to achieve and ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the management and operation.

The meeting reviewed progress in the implementation of the infrastructure in the New Administrative Capital and its districts and facilities. It touched on efforts to extend the electricity supply, including the installation of equipment, lines, as well as switching and distribution stations. The discussions also tackled the work of the telecommunications and systems sector, the information infrastructure, the digital services and the technological preparations for the capital’s management. This is in addition to the data transmission networks, the messaging system, electronic archiving, visual and audio equipment for the operation and security of the buildings and facilities as well as the security and traffic systems and the coverage for mobile service networks

The Spokesman for the Presidency noted that the meeting also followed up on progress in the implementation of the Grand Egyptian Museum and rates of work progress in the construction work, particularly with regard to the main hall and exhibition halls. This is in addition to the plans for the transportation operation and for placing the artifacts in their permanent display places in the museum.

President El-Sisi stressed the need to carry out the preparation work of the museum at the highest standards and to scrutinize all details related to the museum display so as to highlight the uniqueness of the unparalleled ancient Egyptian civilization. This shall be consistent with the museum’s grandeur, which is gaining enormous international interest and is considered to be a cultural icon for the entire humanity.

The meeting also discussed developments in the museum’s display, which seeks to provide a unique experiment and a better understanding of the Egyptian civilization through the display of archeological pieces in an atmosphere reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian civilization with its unique architecture. This also comes in light of the recent successful journey of the 1st King Khufu boat from the Giza Pyramids Plateau to its current display in the Grand Egyptian Museum. This process represented one of the most important and complicated archeological projects as it was carried out with utmost precision and accuracy while ensuring all means of protection for the boat which landed in its new location in the building of the Sun Boats Museum in the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The discussions also focused on the latest in the tourism and archeology sectors. This included the rate of tourists’ influx and the latest preparations for the winter tourism season starting next month. This is in addition to work progress in the Museum of Egypt’s capitals and renovation work underway in a number of archeological sites nationwide, primarily in Luxor Temple and Luxor's Kebash Road, in addition to historic palaces including Mohamed Ali Palace in Shubra.
