President El-Sisi Meets with Prime Minister and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy

President El-Sisi held a meeting today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mohamed Shaker.

As stated by the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, the meeting discussed the plan to develop the basic electricity infrastructure within the national project to develop villages of the Egyptian countryside.

The President directed within this context the development of the basic electricity infrastructure in the Egyptian countryside villages and the ones affiliated to it at the highest level due to the significance of electricity in the desired development process and its connection to upgrade various services while depending on high-quality national industrial materials to achieve comprehensive upgrade.

In addition, the President was updated on the latest developments regarding the electricity sector’s projects across the country, including electricity generation from new and renewable resources, particularly wind and solar energies, in partnership with specialized foreign expertise and the private sector. Furthermore, they presented during the meeting the current efforts exerted to update and develop the national electricity network – including all needed basic components- such as converting high voltage overhead power lines to underground power lines in several areas across the country in a manner that would ensure the safe transmission of electricity, with the least amount of waste and the highest quality level.
