President El-Sisi Meets with Minister of Social Solidarity and Presidential Advisor

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Minister of Social Solidarity Ms. Nevine Al-Kabbaj, and Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the community development programs carried out by the Ministry of Social Solidarity nationwide.

Ms. Al-Kabbaj presented the efforts aimed to develop emergency support programs for families and citizens suffering from social problems that affect their lives and psychology. An immediate action must be taken to ensure social protection for them, a mechanism that is known as "social aid", she added.

President El-Sisi called for enhancing the performance of the social aid mechanism and supporting it financially and technically to ensure that the aid would reach the pressing cases. Moreover, His Excellency stressed the importance of involving the youth in this matter to make use of their creative ideas and genuine willingness to participate in voluntary and charity work. He also called for involving civil society institutions in this and periodically following up on the mechanism's performance and results to ensure the integration of its services with the State's strategy developed to provide a decent life for the Egyptian citizens and maintain stability and community security.

Existing programs aimed to support the fishermen protection system were also presented. In this regard, President El-Sisi gave directives to provide them with the necessary supplies and equipment they need in their profession, while expanding the local production of these tools within the framework of the State’s plan to provide social protection, comprehensive care and economic empowerment for irregular workers.

The President also was updated on the community development efforts in the villages. His Excellency gave directives for expanding the rehabilitation programs for women pioneers in rural areas, with the aim of disseminating the correct information concerning the social, educational and health aspects for all members of the rural family- in a manner that supports the concept of comprehensive social protection. His Excellency called for intensifying those efforts and activities in harmony with the national project to develop the Egyptian countryside, thus helping social programs carried out by various executive government agencies become a success. During the coming period, these programs are planned to be applied on ground in the Egyptian countryside. These efforts would result in improving the overall economic and social conditions of the villagers and services provided to them in the Egyptian countryside.
