President El-Sisi Follows Up on Assessment Tests for Candidates of Police Academy

President El-Sisi went this morning on a tour of inspection of the Police Academy. His Excellency followed up on the assessment tests for the students applying for admission to the Police Academy this academic year. President El-Sisi was received by Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfek and a number of leaders of the Police Academy and the Ministry of Interior.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President had a discussion with a number of applicants on some local and international issues and their aspiration to join the Police Academy to contribute to preserving Egypt’s security in light of the recent global and regional incidents.

In this context, an open dialogue took place between the President and the new students. He listened to their understanding of the various issues in Egypt, especially those related to the state’s efforts to enhance the basic and higher education system, provide health services, eradicate poverty, and raise the standard of living. His Excellency referred to the fact that population growth is a challenge that Egypt faces and affects the State’s economic growth. He noted that it is important to draw lessons from other countries that are similar to Egypt and that achieved progress in development over the past decades with the aim of drawing lessons learned.

President El-Sisi also stressed the importance of the principle of the rule of law to impose order in all aspects. He said that all state issues should be looked at from the state’s perspective and not from the individuals’ perspective. By adopting this mindset, these issues would be dealt with the right way.

The discussion also touched on the great impact of the development of modern social media and how to use it properly and effectively by young people.

The President also highlighted the great efforts that the state is undertaking in the mega national projects nationwide to achieve progress and development. One of these projects is Sinai Development Project; combating terrorism and countering extremist ideology can be achieved by developing new comprehensive urban societies.

The President also praised the keenness of the Egyptian new applicants to join the Police Academy and to shoulder the responsibility of maintaining the security and stability of their homeland.

President El-Sisi affirmed the great national responsibility the police have towards the state and the citizens. This must be taken into consideration while selecting the students applying to join the Police Academy with impartiality and transparency.

The President also stressed the importance of continuing to develop the capabilities of the Police Academy to ensure that it keeps pace with the modern sciences in the security, legal and social fields. His Excellency emphasized the need to improve the students’ physical and health state. He also called for making a comprehensive assessment of their awareness of various national security issues by discussing these issues in detail within the academic curricula so as to make them aware of all issues.
