A medically-equipped C-130 military transport plane took off from East Cairo Air Base heading to Benina Military Base in the Libyan city of Benghazi to evacuate dozens, who sustained burns in the explosion, to receive treatment at the Armed Forces Hospital in Helmiya.

The Medical Services Department immediately raised the state of readiness for the Armed Forces Hospital, sending medical staff with the necessary tools and medical supplies on board the plane. The injured were transferred from East Cairo Air Base in medically-equipped ambulances.

The medical evacuation of the injured comes as an affirmation of Egypt’s pivotal role, and in support of the Libyan state’s efforts to overcome all the crises it is facing. The General Command of the Armed Forces extends its sincere wishes to the injured for a speedy recovery.
