The President also inspected the ongoing development in the 160 km-long Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road and the 260 km-long Al-Dabaa Axis, each comprising 8 lanes per direction. The President also inspected the ongoing development work and efficiency-raising of both the International Coastal Road, extending over El-Alamein International Airport, and the 130 Km-long Wadi El Natrun-El Alamein Road, comprising 8 lanes per direction.

The President directed that the development process of the axes and roads in the North Coast as well as the southern sector be completed; thus, they would become lifelines integrating with the ongoing giant national projects in this area. Among these projects are the New Delta Project for agricultural production, New Al-Alamein City, El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Al-Alamein International Airport, and Ras El Hikma, as well as tourist resorts extending along Matruh governorate. Thus, they will accommodate the traffic movement and commercial traffic that are projected to increase as a result of the ongoing comprehensive development in geographical part of Egypt.
