Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Yemen’s Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohammed Ali Al-Maqdashi, in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Mohamed Zaki, and the Ambassador of Yemen to Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Ali Marem.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the Yemeni Minister of Defense conveyed the greetings of Yemeni President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi to President El-Sisi, praising cooperation between Egypt and Yemen in all fields, especially at the military and security levels. He also expressed that his country looked forward to the continued support of Egypt, the largest Arab country, for political efforts aimed at containing the current situation in Yemen and end the humanitarian crisis.
The Spokesman added that the President asked for his greetings to be conveyed to President Abdrabuh Mansour. President El-Sisi confirmed Egypt’s firm stance in support of all efforts exerted to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, one that meets the aspiration of its people, enforces their free will and ends foreign intervention in Yemen’s affairs.
The President stressed that these are the principles and pillars of the Egyptian policy and that Egypt will spare no effort in helping the brotherly country of Yemen in achieving these goals.
