President El-Sisi Meets with PM, Ministers and Officials

President El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr. Mohamed Abdel Ati, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mr. Al-Sayed El-Quseir, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Staff Major General Ehab Al-Far, and Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Major General Ahmed El-Shazly.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the joint development efforts between the sectors of irrigation and agriculture and other concerned parties concerning a number of projects across Egypt.

President El-Sisi was briefed on the efforts aimed at establishing the infrastructure for those national projects, especially the development of Siwa Oasis in the Western Desert. The President emphasized the importance of preserving the distinctive heritage of Siwa Oasis and developing its lakes, wells and springs to increase the production of the agricultural crops it is famous for, in a way that enhances the added economic and investment value of the oasis since it is a unique tourist destination.

The implementation status of the establishment of agricultural drainage water treatment plants to provide irrigation water sources for agricultural land areas in the middle and western delta was also presented. Moreover, the general plan of the project aiming to protect and develop the coasts of the northern delta, especially in Port Said was showcased. In this regard, President El-Sisi directed that financial resources should be provided for the project and all construction-related studies be completed in accordance with the highest environmental and engineering standards.

The Spokesman added that during the meeting, the President also followed up on the developments and the relevant implementation steps in some projects of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces nationwide and the New Administrative Capital, especially the diplomatic district in the New Administrative Capital, which is scheduled to include the headquarters of foreign embassies and accredited international organizations in Cairo. The district includes all the different services and various social activities for its residents and frequent visitors, in accordance with the highest standards and in integration with the other districts in the Capital.
