President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, this evening. The Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi congratulated his brother, the President of Tunisia, on the formation and swearing-in of a new government. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's support for all steps taken towards maintaining stability in Tunisia. The President also confirmed that he values the firm brotherly and historic bonds the two countries’ governments and peoples share.
For his part, President Saied expressed his gratitude for President El-Sisi’s congratulations, which reflect the depth and strength of relations between Egypt and Tunisia. He underscored his keenness on strengthening the frameworks of joint bilateral cooperation. The Tunisian President also voiced appreciation for Egypt's efforts in support of the Tunisian issue and for its vital role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab and African action in the face of the current regional challenges.
