President El-Sisi Receives Paralympic Medal Winners

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received the Paralympic athletes and their coaching staff after securing at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, and President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Hayat Khattab.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi awarded the Second Class Medal of Sports to Taekwondo player Mohamed El-Zayat, Technical Director Mahmoud Abdel Gawad and coach Hany Ali. The President also awarded the same medal to powerlifters Sherif Osman, Mahmoud Mohamed, Rehab Ahmed, and Fatima Amr, as well as coach Mahmoud Nabil, Technical Director for female athletes Shaaban Yehia, Technical Director for male athletes Emad Eldin Bahgat. This is in addition to women’s coach Sherif Hussein and men’s coach Abdelmoneim Salah.

The President also awarded the Third Class Medal of Sports to weightlifters Mohamed Sobhy and Hany Mohsen.

The President commended the achievements made by the sports champions as well as their coaches and technical staff, which contributed to elevating Egypt’s name high and strengthening its position in international sports forums. The President stressed that they have borne the highest degree of national responsibility, have earned the respect and appreciation of the entire Egyptian people, and have been held up as exemplars and role models for young people in achieving their ambitions.

The President also stressed that Egypt’s Paralympic champions have proven that strong will and firm determination can overcome difficulties to make achievements and reach the desired goals.

The President underlined the importance of intensifying the support given to all Egyptian champions in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Paralympic Games in furtherance of more sporting achievements to bolster Egypt’s deserved status regionally and internationally.

For their part, the sports champions expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to the President for honoring them. They stressed that this gesture is a strong push for them to accomplish more in the field of sports and serve their country.

They also praised the President's continued keenness to overcome all obstacles faced by the Egyptian sports champions in the Paralympic Games to pave their way to making great achievements in their sports career.
