President El-Sisi Meets King of Bahrin in Manama

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the King of Bahrain, His Majesty king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, at Al-Sakhir Palace in Manama.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that King Hamad bin Isa welcomed President El-Sisi as a dear guest of Bahrain. king Hamad expressed that the Bahraini people and government hold in high esteem the historical bonds and close relations with Egypt and its people in various fields. He stressed the deep appreciation for Egypt’s strategic and pivotal role under the leadership of the President in protecting Arab national security and defending the Arab nation's issues.

President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and stressed the strong and special relations between Egypt and Bahrain. This is in addition to Egypt’s keenness to develop cooperation and coordination with Bahrain to benefit the two brotherly peoples and the Arab nation by intensifying the pace of bilateral and periodical meetings between senior officials from both countries. The latest of which was King Hamad's visit to Sharm El-Sheikh and his participation in the Trilateral Summit that also included His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The Spokesman added that the meeting touched on various aspects of bilateral relations, as well as international developments. President El-Sisi confirmed that Arab unity and solidarity and the alignment of positions are the most effective ways to ward off foreign dangers from the Arab world as a whole.

The King of Bahrain affirmed that his country’s position is aligned with Egypt’s ongoing efforts to resolve conflicts in the region. He also stressed the cohesion of the national security of both countries and that Egypt will always remain Bahrain's pivotal partner in the region.

The two leaders exchanged views on the convening of the upcoming summit to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will bring together Gulf countries, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and USA.

Concluding their talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of a number of agreements and MoUs between the two countries in the fields of economic, scientific and technological cooperation, as well as investment, legal and judicial cooperation, export development, exhibition organization, environment protection, education, sea and air freight services, and cooperation between the Capital Governorate in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Cairo Governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
