President El-Sisi Orders Dispatch of Medical Aid to Libya

Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Egypt airlifts emergency aid to Libya as a continuation of its unwavering support and solidarity with the brotherly Libyan people at different times and in various circumstances.

Two military transport planes, loaded with tons of medical supplies, took off from East Cairo Air Base en route to Sebha International Airport in Libya. The Shipment was sent by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population to the brotherly country of Libya to relieve the burden on its citizens.

For their part, the Libyans expressed their deep thanks and gratitude to all efforts exerted by the leadership, government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt for standing by Libya in times of hardships and challenges. The Libyans also stressed the importance of this aid in supporting the Libyan health sector in facing the challenges it encounters amid the spread of COVID-19.

This aid is an affirmation of the historical and national ties between Egypt and Libya as well as the deep bonds of brotherhood and friendship that unite the two brotherly peoples.
