He earned the Bachelor Degree in Law in 1967 from Cairo University.

He was chosen to be appointed assistant deputy in the State Council in 1970.
He was delegated to work as a legal advisor to the General Authority of the Foreign Ministry Buildings Fund in 1973.
In 1982, he worked as Counselor at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in 1982.
He was appointed Deputy Counselor, Category A, in 1980, and then Counselor in the State Council in 1984.
In 1990, he was appointed deputy in the State Council and Vice President of the State Council in 1992.
On May 19, 2013, the General Assembly of the Supreme Constitutional Court approved that Judge Adly Mansour, the first Vice-President of the Court, would be appointed President of the Supreme Constitutional Court as a successor to Judge Maher El-Beheiry.
As the President of the Supreme Constitutional Court, he was chosen to be the interim President on July 3, 2013.
On July 4, 2013, he was sworn in as the interim President before the members of the Constitutional Court.
He ran the country during the transitional phase from the 4th of July, 2013, to the 8th of June, 2014.
President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi awarded Mansour the Order of the Nile as per the first republican decree he issued during his inauguration.
