Mohamed Naguib Military Base

• Mohamed Naguib Military Base is located in the city of Hammam, Marsa Matrouh Governorate.

• It was constructed on an area of ​​18,000 feddans.

• It was established by major and strategic changes in the Egyptian military tactic, and provides protection for national projects, led by "Dabaa Nuclear Plant, oil fields and borders".

• It represents a base for joint training with brotherly and friendly countries, and it provides all capabilities in an advanced civilized way.

• It is the successor to the military city in the Hammam region, which was established in 1993.

• It includes 1155 buildings and facilities.

• It includes 4 main gates and 8 internal gates for the units.

• The external and internal roads at the base have been developed and expanded with a length of 72 km, including the coastal road link with a length of 11.5 km, the "Al-Burqan" road with a length of 12.5 km and Al-Ameed link with a length of 14.6 km. The rest of the roads inside the base reached 18 km.

• It includes a tank transport regiment that can hold approximately 451 modern tankers to transport heavy tanks.

• 72 integrated fields, including a complex of specialized training fields, small-arms shooting fields, and an electronic tactical shooting complex, were created using the latest shooting systems and imitators.

• The residential city dedicated to joint training includes 27 lounges for senior commanders, 14 buildings for officers, all of which are equipped with hotel furniture. There are also 15 similar buildings for non-commissioned officers. Two buildings have been also developed and they can take up to 1,000 individuals. There are also lecture and training rooms.

• The main club was developed and equipped with a swimming pool and gymnasium that is equipped with the latest sports and entertainment technologies.

• Hammam Military Hospital was also developed. 50 beds were added, and the latest medical devices and equipment were installed. A veterinary laboratory and medical clinic were also established.

• It contains 50 unites powered by solar energy.

• The bread production unit at the base was developed; 6 gas-fired lines were established instead of 4 old lines that used to run on diesel.

• It includes a multi-purpose conference hall that can take up to 1,600 people, attached to it a theater equipped with the latest technology, a center for war battles, a language and computer laboratory, and President Mohamed Naguib museum.

• There is a mosque with a capacity that can take more than 2000 worshipers.

• A sporting village has been established. It includes a covered lounge and Olympic football field, a club for officers and one for non-commissioned officers. Both are equipped with a swimming pool and 6 open courts: basketball, volleyball and handball courts.

• The farm includes 379 feddans planted with fruit trees and another 1,600 feddans for seasonal plants.

• It includes 3 ponds to accumulate turbid water with a capacity of 70 thousand m^2 for using it in agriculture, and a basin for irrigation of green areas.
