Martyr Ahmed El-Mansy Floating Bridge in Suez Canal

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi opened Martyr Ahmed El-Mansy Floating Bridge in the Suez Canal to connect the west of the channel with its east. It benefits the people of the governorates of Port Said, Suez, Ismailia, North and South Sinai.
The family of the martyr Ahmed Mansi attended the activities of the experiment of the martyr Ahmed Mansi, at the invitation of General Mohab Mamish, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority.

• Martyr Ahmed El-Mansy Floating Bridge is located in Ismailia.

• The bridge is 350 meters long.

• It is important since it contributes with the Ferryboat and Tunnels Facility in order to relieve the burden the citizens carry during the transition between the east and west of the canal.

• It provides the necessary infrastructure for new urban communities east of the canal, on top of which is the new Ismailia city.

• It connects Sinai with the rest of Egypt's governorates to support the ongoing development projects in the Canal Zone.

• The bridge consists of two parts, the eastern and western, and each of which consists of three pontoons that work as one part that rotates on an axis next to the anchorage so as to be able to rotate during closing and opening.

• The width of the eastern and western parts of the bridge is 15 meters.

• The lanes of cars are 7 meters wide.

• The pedestrian lane is 2 meters wide and 1.65 meters high.

• The weight of the steel sheets used in the construction of the entire bridge reached 2960 tons.
