Seawater Desalination Plant in Tor, South Sinai

It is considered the second largest seawater desalination plant in Egypt.

The seawater desalination plant operates at a capacity of 30,000 m3 / day.

The plant uses the latest global technology in seawater desalination with a reverse osmosis system. Desalination processes are carried out through several stages, starting with pulling out sea water by giant pumps and placing them in a salt water tank so as to be primary treated and to dispose plankton. Then, the water goes through the stage of microscope filters to permanently get rid of impurities before entering directly to the desalination section, in which desalination processes are carried out. After that, the process of chemical treatment of desalinated water takes place according to the standards of the Egyptian and World Health Organizations.

The project is shown in the attached video produced by the Armed Forces Morale Affairs Department (56:20).
