The radio spectrum monitoring system is one of the key pillars to ensure the efficient use of the radio spectrum, as it is a limited national resource. It helps in tightening oversight on its usage, reducing harmful interference, and ensuring compliance with approved technical standards, which directly impacts the improvement of the quality and efficiency of wireless services provided in the Egyptian market and supports the sustainability and development of the telecommunications sector.
The center includes several vital components, such as the control center for the radio spectrum monitoring sensor system distributed across various parts of the country, a specialized measurement lab that houses a sophisticated set of laboratory and field radio spectrum measuring devices and equipment, in addition to a technical support workshop responsible for repairing and improving the efficiency of devices and equipment. The center also includes mobile stations for radio spectrum monitoring, which offer flexible and responsive solutions for dealing with wireless interference issues in different areas.
The opening of this center is part of the efforts of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to improve the management and monitoring efficiency of the radio spectrum, support the quality and stability of wireless services, and contribute to meeting the needs of the Egyptian market. It also aims to keep pace with the rapid advancements in telecommunications technologies and boost Egypt's position as a leading regional hub in the field of telecommunications and information technology.
