President El-Sisi Receives Phone Call from President of Ukraine

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received this evening a phone call from President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the two presidents discussed some issues of bilateral relations. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's appreciation of the improvement in both countries’ relations, particularly in the economic, commercial and tourism sectors, during the recent period.

For his part, the Ukrainian President praised the close ties binding the two countries. For Egypt’s pivotal role in maintaining stability and security in the Middle East and Africa, President Zelensky further confirmed his country's keenness to enhance bilateral relations. He is also looking forward to continuing coordination and consultation with Egypt to develop mutual cooperation, thus achieving both countries’ interests.

The two leaders exchanged views on a number of regional files, including the Libyan issue and peace process. In this respect, the Ukrainian President commended Egypt’s efforts in reaching political solutions to the various crises faced in the Middle East, the Spokesman added.
