President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Director of General Intelligence, Mr. Abbas Kamel.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that during the meeting, they reviewed the current developments in the Libyan scene, especially in the wake of Cairo Declaration Initiative and the endeavor to achieve its provisions, the ceasefire in particular.
In the same context, the efforts of state agencies based on the President's directives were tackled. These directives are culminated in ensuring the safe arrival of Egyptian citizens detained in Libya to their homeland. The President gave directives for pursuing taking all necessary measures to preserve the safety and lives of Egyptians abroad.
The latest developments of the security situation in general were discussed, especially with regard to combating terrorism and extremist ideology. In this regard, the President directed the concerned authorities to exert strenuous efforts to maintain security and provide safety for citizens, to consolidate community stabilization across Egypt, and to provide an appropriate climate for development and economic progress.
