El-Sisi Meets Arab Organization for Industrialization Chairman

Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, AOI, Mr. Abdel-Moneim Al Tarras.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said that the meeting reviewed the AOI’s activities, plans and projects in various areas. President El Sisi stressed the need to further develop and modernize the AOI, so as to fulfil the demands of the state’s sustainable development plans. This shall be taking place in line with the state’s policy to leverage the resources, boost local manufacturing, and continue efforts toward collaborating with various international companies and bolstering industrial partnerships with them so as to contribute to the transfer and localization of technology in Egypt. This come in light of the AOI’s significant role in the field of industry and its participation in the implementation of national and development projects.

Mr. Al Tarras offered an overview of the AOI’s latest activities and projects, notably progress in the enhancement and modernization of the SIMAF factory for railway, which is considered the only world-class factory for railway industry in North Africa and the Middle East. This aims to boost the localization of the railway industry in Egypt and meet the current and future needs of the ministry of transport.

The meeting also reviewed future projects by the AOI, including the establishment of a factory for the production and molding of car plates, using the latest German tools and technology, in collaboration with the ministry of interior. This is in addition to a project to establish two factories in cooperation with various foreign expertise to transfer the latest technology pertinent to the production of safe syringes as well as medical strips and joints.
