President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today David L. Stover, Chairman and CEO of Noble Energy, a US oil and natural gas exploration and production company, in the presence Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tariq Al-Mulla, in addition to a number of the company’s officials.
Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency said that the meeting discussed the prospects for the development of Noble Energy in Egypt. In this context, Stover praised Egypt's ambitious vision for achieving comprehensive economic development. He stressed that Egypt is at the forefront of the countries which attach importance to develop investment in the American company in light of the current positive investment climate in Egypt. He also highlighted the promising opportunities of the energy sector in Egypt, especially in view of the great interest of Egypt to develop this vital sector, and the potentials Egypt has to make this a success, including the geographical location, oil and gas discoveries, advanced infrastructure of the gas pipeline network and liquefaction plants and ongoing regional co-operation projects to link, transport and liquefy gas.
The Spokesman added that the President welcomed the officials of Noble Energy, referring to its good international reputation, its professional approach and the highest international standards with which it carries out the activities. In this regard, he noted the distinguished relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, expressing the aspiration to strengthen these bilateral relations to contribute to the achievement of common development goals.
The President also called for coordinating and cooperating with Noble Energy and working to overcome any obstacles that may face its work so as to promote efforts of research, discoveries and production of natural gas in Egypt.
