President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was at the head of the the military funeral of Lieutenant General Ahmed Abdel Rahman Nasr, the former Air Force Commander. It was held in the military ceremony area in Mosheer Tantawy Mosque, in the presence of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Mohamed Zaki, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, major branch commanders, senior leaders of the armed forces and a number of former senior commanders.
Lt Gen Nasr had graduated from the Air Force College in 1956, and held several positions including the commander of an air brigade during the October 1973 war. He climbed the ranks until he was appointed commander of the Air Force from 1990 until 1996. He participated in all the wars that Egypt has fought in since 1956 War to October Victory 1973. He received many military decorations and medals in recognition of his immortal heroic role and work.
President El-Sisi extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Lt Gen Nasr, who is one of the bright symbols in the history of the Egyptian military and who generously served the homeland and the armed forces.
