President El-Sisi Meets President of Libyan Presidential Council

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Libyan Presidential Council,Mohamed al-Menfi, on the sidelines of the U.S.-African Summit in Washington, D.C.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting touched on the developments in Libya. The President stressed Egypt's firm position in support of the efforts of the Libyan Presidential Council, headed by al-Menfi, and for them to succeed and help the Libyan brothers to create conditions conducive to holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously, given their positive repercussions on the political efforts to end the current crisis by activating the will and choice of the Libyan people.

The President of the Libyan Presidential Council affirmed his country's great appreciation, at the official and popular levels, for Egypt's vital role, led by President El-Sisi, in restoring peace and stability in Libya. This is in light of the fraternal and historical relations that bind the two countries and Egypt's leading role under the wise leadership of the President, especially  with regard to supporting the Libyan national institutions.
