President El-Sisi Follows-up on the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, as well as the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Planning and Economic Development; Finance; Social Solidarity as well as the President of the National Council for Women (NCW).

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting followed up on the national program for rural women pioneers and the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family.

The meeting reviewed the experience of the rural women pioneers, within the framework of the relevant ministries and authorities work in the area of enhancing the awareness of women, the family and society. This is taking place through efforts based on the mechanism of rural women pioneers along several axes related to services and awareness, in addition to coordinating with NGOs as well as religious and local leaders.

President El-Sisi gave directives to enhance and support the role of NGO’s and the coordination mechanisms between them and the women pioneers’ system, given their return and importance. The President stressed the need to form specialized working groups to study all prevalent societal problems they encounter during their work on the ground in order to develop the best ways for the state’s intervention to provide appropriate solutions, with an audit of databases in this regard. President El-Sisi also underlined the need to provide academic support for these efforts through universities in the geographical area of the work of the women pioneers’ groups. This shall take place in coordination and harmony with the state’s initiatives within the framework including “the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family” and “ Decent Life” initiatives.

The executive status of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family was reviewed, with the participation of all relevant authorities, as well as the nationwide geographical scope of the project and its targeted groups in an effort towards the integrated development of every facet of the lives of Egyptian families. The project is based on several axes related to economic empowerment, specifically for women through realizing their financial independence, job provision, and social service interventions with the aim of training and qualifying medical staff and arranging for the necessary means to provide family planning services in cooperation with NGOs and civil society organizations. This is in addition to educational and cultural media campaign programs to help raise citizens’ awareness of basic concepts and their implications on the issue of population growth. This also satisfies digital transformation, through the establishment of a unified electronic system to automate and link all services provided to the Egyptian family, as well as the legislative axis to establish a regulatory framework governing the policies adopted to control population growth.

President El-Sisi gave directives to continue coordination among all concerned parties to audit all details of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family before the launch of its first phase, in addition to monitoring and evaluating the project's results on a regular basis to achieve the desired results.
