The meeting also focused on the current military escalation in the Gaza Strip and the subsequent deterioration in the security situation and humanitarian conditions of the brotherly Palestinian people in Gaza and the deaths and injury of thousands. President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II, once again, condemned in the strongest terms the bombing of Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital and all acts targeting civilians. They underscored the imperative need to continue the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing in a sustainable manner, while affirming the rejection of the policies of collective punishment, including the siege, starvation, and displacement of the Palestinians from their land to Egypt or Jordan. The two leaders warned of the formidable danger of these calls and policies on regional security.

The meeting also tackled Egypt and Jordan’s vigorous efforts to push for calm and de-escalation. President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II reiterated the two countries’ unwavering and steadfast positions that achieving real and sustainable stability in the region is based on the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights for an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, in a manner that would realize peace, security and prosperity for all peoples of the region.
