Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with Amir of the State of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to follow up on the repercussions of the Iranian aggression that targeted the territory of the State of Qatar.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s unwavering support for the leadership and people of Qatar. The President further stressed that any infringement on the sovereignty of an Arab state negatively impacts the stability of the entire region and further heightens the seriousness of the regional situation.
President El-Sisi called for intensified international and regional efforts to contain the tension. The President reasserted that dialogue and political and diplomatic solutions remain the optimal path to overcoming crises, noting that continued military escalation will only increase the suffering of peoples and undermine opportunities for development and peace.
For his part, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance toward the State of Qatar. He praised the profound fraternal relations and historic bonds that unite the two countries and their peoples.
