Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the State of Eritrea, President Isaias Afwerki, in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, to discuss bilateral relations and the regional situation.
The two countries issued the following joint statement:
Joint Statement Between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Eritrea
At the kind invitation of His Excellency President Isaias Afwerki, President of the State of Eritrea, to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the two Presidents met today, October 10, 2024, in the Eritrean capital, Asmara. The two Presidents held extensive consultations on bilateral relations, vital regional and international issues, and prospects for fostering closer relations to serve the aspirations of the two peoples.
The two Presidents agreed on the following:
-Absolute respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the countries of the region.
-Rejection of interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region under any pretext or justification.
-Coordination of joint efforts to achieve regional stability.
-Working to create a conducive environment for joint and sustainable development.
