Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina, on the sidelines of his participation in the Africa–France Summit in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the meeting focused ways to further enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Madagascar across various priority sectors. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to Madagascar in its efforts to achieve sustainable development. The two Presidents discussed opportunities for joint cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, health, and human development.
The President of Madagascar expressed his deep appreciation for the existing relations with Egypt, commending the fruitful and longstanding cooperation between the two countries. President Randrianirina emphasized his country’s commitment to bolstering coordination with Egypt across various fields to forge closer bilateral relations and achieve shared developmental goals.
The meeting also touched on a number of regional issues of mutual interest. President El-Sisi and President Randrianirina agreed on the necessity to strengthen consultations between their countries on challenges facing the African continent. This shall contribute to fostering peace, security, stability, and development, in line with the objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and the African Union Agenda 2063, which together represent the strategic vision for achieving comprehensive development across the continent.
