Today, on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened a meeting with the King of Jordan, the Presidents of France and Türkiye, the Amir of Qatar, the German Chancellor, the Prime Ministers of Italy, the UK, and Canada and the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohammed El-Shennawy, said the meeting was held to coordinate among the participating countries with regard to the implementation of the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip, including reconstruction efforts and the provision of humanitarian aid.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of convening the “Cairo Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction” in November 2025, and of building upon the momentum generated by the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace in this regard.
The President stressed the crucial need for European countries to encourage all concerned parties to implement the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip. President El-Sisi noted that Egypt and Jordan are currently training a number of Palestinian police personnel, and affirmed the importance of European states providing support to Egypt and Jordan in this effort to continue and expand the scope of the training.
The participating countries reiterated the necessity of directing sufficient quantities of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the urgent need for debris removal, and the establishment of a coordination mechanism among the states participating in today’s summit to agree on specific steps to be taken in pursuit of this group's objectives.
