Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of the United States of America, Joe Biden. The call came within the framework of following-up on the outcome of the last visit to Cairo by U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and as part of the ongoing consultations between the two countries on the latest developments in the tense regional situation and the military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmad Fahmy, said the two Presidents concurred about the gravity of the current situation and the necessity to contain it in a way that would not allow the expansion of the cycle of the conflict and threatening regional security and stability.
President El-Sisi and American President Biden also agreed on the priority of protecting civilians and delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the ongoing consultations in this regard with the United Nations, as well as efforts exerted to advance and revive the peace track. President El-Sisi and President Biden agreed to continue consultations and coordination of efforts in the coming period.
