President El-Sisi’s Speech on the 52nd Anniversary of the Glorious October War Victory

Monday, 06 October 2025 / 10:10 AM

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful”

The great people of Egypt,

Valiant members of our Armed Forces,

Ladies and gentlemen,

On this glorious day, we all stand in a stance of pride and honor, commemorating a day that is eternal in the history and conscience of our nation: the 6th of October 1973.

That day added glory and honor to Egypt and to all Arabs. It is the day of the Great Victory, the day of the Crossing.

The day when the world stood in respect and awe for the greatness and will of the Egyptians, and for the unity of the Arab decision.

On this redolent anniversary, we extend our sincere salute to the soul of the great leader, late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, the Hero of War and Peace. The man of the bold decision and the insightful vision, who led the nation with wisdom and courage toward victory and peace.

We also salute the commanders of the Armed Forces, every officer and soldier, every martyr who ascended to heaven, every wounded who bled for the sake of the homeland, and everyone who answered Egypt’s call in that critical moment of its history, so that Egypt’s flag would forever fly high and proud.

As we commemorate this great memory, we do not celebrate it merely for the sake of celebration, but rather to draw lessons and insights from it.

The epic of October taught us that victory is not granted, but seized, and that meticulous planning, sincere and diligent work, coordination among state institutions, cohesion of the domestic front, and certainty in God's victory are the keys to triumph and glory.

Allah the Almighty said: {If you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet}. With this conviction, Egypt triumphed — and with this same conviction, Egypt will remain victorious, with Allah’s willing, until the Day of Judgment.

From the spirit of October, we derive our determination today to build the New Egypt—the Modern Egypt— Egypt that befits its stature and history, and deserves to be among the major nations.

We are working with all diligence and sincerity to build a strong, modern, advanced state that manifests Egypt's true weight and its civilizational and human value in a world that only recognizes the strong.

We are building robust institutions, launching massive development projects, and reshaping the future, to establish Egypt in its proper stature: leading, advanced, and influential.

If these principles led us to victory in October 1973, then today, amid the successive crises our region is passing through, we are in dire need of invoking, recalling, and applying them as a steadfast approach in our political and social lives.

The regional situation can no longer tolerate complacency. The circumstances we are living through require us to be up to the responsibility and to be inspired by the spirit of October to help us overcome challenges and even move forward.

Egypt and Israel fought fierce wars and military confrontations in which both sides paid heavy prices in blood and destruction.

This hostility would have continued and deepened, if it were not for the foresight of President Sadat, the wisdom of the Israeli leadership at the time, and the American mediation that paved the way toward a just and courageous peace, ending the cycle of revenge, breaking the wall of hostility, and opening a new chapter in history.

For peace to endure, it must be established upon the pillars of justice and fairness; it cannot be imposed or dictated.

Egypt’s experience in making peace with Israel was not just an agreement, but it was the foundation of a just peace that cemented stability and proved that fairness is the only way to lasting peace. It is a historical model to be emulated in forging genuine peace.

From this conviction, we firmly believe that true peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved except through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with the references of international legitimacy, and in a way that restores rights to their rightful owners.

Peace imposed by force breeds only resentment, but peace built on justice leads to true normalization and sustainable coexistence among peoples.

In this context, I extend my appreciation and regards to U.S. President Donald Trump, for his initiative aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip — after two years of war, genocide, killing, and destruction.

A ceasefire, the return of captives and detainees, the reconstruction of Gaza, and the initiation of a peaceful political path conducive to the establishment and recognition of a Palestinian State – all mean that we are moving in the right direction toward lasting peace and deep-rooted stability, to which we all aspire.

Reconciliation, not confrontation, is the only way to build a secure future for our children.

And here I reiterate the importance of preserving the peace framework established by the United States since the 1970s, which has formed a strategic framework for regional stability.

Expanding this framework can only be achieved by strengthening its pillars based on justice and guaranteeing the peoples of the region their right to life, as well as through cooperation that ends conflicts and unleashes the region’s full potential for integration, prosperity, and growth.

Great People of Egypt,

In conclusion, I assure you that Egypt's Armed Forces stand firm on their mission to protect our country and safeguard its borders, fearing no challenges.

A national army, born from the heart of this great nation, whose sons carry their souls in their hands, standing as an impenetrable barrier against all difficulties and threats.

I renew my salute to our valiant Armed Forces, to our righteous martyrs who watered the soil of the homeland with their pure blood, and to our heroic soldiers who stay vigilant so that Egypt may sleep safe and secure.

May you be well every year.

Always and forever: Long Live Egypt... Long Live Egypt... Long Live Egypt.

May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon you.
