President El-Sisi Speaks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmad Fahmy, said the call focused on efforts to halt the current escalation between the Palestinians and Israelis. President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdulla II reviewed the latest developments and stressed the priority of coordinating regional and international efforts toward ending the escalation and violence, exercising self-restraint, sparing blood and preventing a further exacerbation of the situation.

The two leaders agreed to continue and intensify consultations and coordination between Egypt and Jordan so as to boost efforts toward achieving calm. This shall lead to advancing the process of a comprehensive and just settlement for the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution, in line with the relevant references of international legitimacy, and in a way that ensures establishing peace and stability in the region.
