In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
The Great People of Egypt, Dear Honorable and Proud People,
On a day marking the sacrifices of the people of the nation meeting with the glories of the self-sacrificing heroes, one of the greatest, eternal days in the history of our nation: The Martyr’s Day, we meet here to remember together the great sacrifices of our heroes who gave their souls to write illuminated pages, thus guiding the generations to come. Generations that will follow in these heroes’ footsteps, emulate their journey of struggle, and realize that the preservation of homelands is not easy, but it rather takes effort and sacrifice. Undoubtedly, what our sons have achieved throughout Egypt’s national history confirms that its holy land can never run out of heroes.
As the past of our grandparents was filled with glory, the present has also brought along the achievements of the grandchildren. History will stand witness, with reverence and respect, to what our sons, the righteous martyrs of Egypt, wrote with their sacrifices, and the coming generations will boast about them and tell stories showcasing the Martyr’s heroism.
As part of my responsibility, I must point out that if it had not been for the pure blood that was spilled as a sacrifice to maintain homeland security, neither a safe and stable climate could have been provided for Egypt, nor the country could have moved toward achieving comprehensive development taking place across the country.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is no secret that, during the last decade, the world has witnessed events that changed the course of countries that used to enjoy security and stability. As a result, a deep wound has been inflicted at the heart of the concept of the nation state. It is hard for the wound to heal or for these countries to be the same as before in the near future.
The region in which we live was the epicenter of all these incidents. The spark of sabotage and destruction was ignited and the sovereignty of these states was violated; others have been making these state’s national decision.
Egypt was aware of all these events and developments; it built a solid fence of strength, awareness and consciousness, thus fortifying its people. Egypt did so with the support of its army that has embraced its national creed: the absolute loyalty to the land and people of Egypt.
From here, I extend greetings, with reverence and admiration, to the courageous men of the Armed Forces- regardless of their ranks and degrees- for upholding the honor to preserve the nation's capabilities and gains.
I also send greetings, with pride and appreciation, to the loyal policemen for their efforts in maintaining Egypt's internal security and providing an environment conducive to stability so that the rest of the state bodies and institutions would be able to play their designated role.
Talking about the sacrifices of all the people of the nation, I cannot overlook the great and growing role played, with great dedication and devotion, by our sons and daughters who work in the medical field to fight the Covid-19 pandemic that is ravaging the world. The tremendous efforts made by our heroes to provide comfort and reassurance to our patients will remain immortal in the memory of our people.
I also extend a special greeting to the Egyptian government and all state institutions for their remarkable performance, setting a good example in their crisis management performance and their ability to provide all necessary medical supplies and logistics for citizens to overcome the repercussions of this pandemic.
The Great People of Egypt,
Concluding my speech and celebrating the Martyr’s Day, I must shed light on the sacrifices of the families of our righteous martyrs who lost a son, father, husband, or brother.
On behalf of myself and the Egyptian people, I salute you and extend to you our appreciation for your patience and endurance and for seeking solace and believing that nothing befalls us except that which Allah has written for us.
I tell you: “You are in the mind and heart of Egypt. We will not let you face life alone; we will be with you every step of the way.”
If you have lost a dear member of your family, I assure you that all Egyptians are your family.
Forever and always:
Long live Egypt, Long Live Egypt, Long Live Egypt.
May the Peace and Mercy of Allah Be Upon You.
