The first phase of the Sewage Treatment Plant operates with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day, while the total capacity of the plant is 140,000 m3/day.

The plant consists of inlet distributor, filters, basins for the primary settling, aeration tanks, basins for the secondary settling, basins for chlorination, drying basins, and triple treatment system using sand filters. The water produced is then used to irrigate the green areas in the city.
