The Umm Kulthum Theater at Mansoura Culture Palace in Dakahlia Governorate was inaugurated, reflecting the belief of the Egyptian state, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, that human development is the foundation of the New Republic, and that culture represents a national necessity. The inauguration coincided with the celebration of the 776th national day, marking the anniversary of the people of Mansoura's victory over the Crusader campaign led by Louis IX. This event, which also took place for the first time at the newly renovated and upgraded Umm Kulthum Theater, emphasizes the values of heroism and sacrifice in the national historical record.
The theater represents an important addition to Egypt's enlightenment map and the building of national awareness. The people of Mansoura have historically embodied the true meaning of belonging and national work, continuously striving to preserve their identity and rich history.
The Mansoura Culture Palace is located on an area of approximately 2,400 square meters on the banks of the Nile River. It includes the Umm Kulthum Theater, which has a seating capacity of 820 and is equipped with the latest technologies. In addition, it houses a library with more than 22,000 books, several cultural and artistic clubs, and specialized departments for children's culture and artistic affairs.
The palace was listed as one of the buildings with distinguished architectural style by Minister of Housing decision No. 236 of 2016. It has undergone successive development works, the latest of which took place in December 2025. These included updates to the sound and lighting systems, enhancing infrastructure, implementing safety standards, and upgrading facilities and services to ensure the sustainability of its cultural role.
