Development and Restoration of Darb Al-Labbana Area

The revival of the area comes within the framework of the state's efforts to revitalize Historic Cairo, preserve its urban fabric, transform derelict spaces into buildings with a distinctive architectural character, and revive Al-Rumeila Square Garden, which overlooks Al-Rifa'i and Sultan Hassan Mosques.

Derelict buildings were restored and rebuilt while preserving the original facades and the vibrant urban fabric of the area. Additionally, 7 service and recreational facilities were established, including a restaurant area, cafes, bazaars, and various entertainment activities, and the external facade finishes were completed.

Full structural reinforcement and restoration were carried out for 3 properties to preserve their structural integrity and historical value, in addition to upgrading the efficiency and developing the facades and roofs of 2 properties to align with the urban pattern of the site.

Al-Mahmoudiya Garden, spanning an area of 5150 m², which had been neglected, was also revived and handed over to the entity responsible for its management and operation, ensuring the provision of a civilized service to visitors.
