The project includes 53 national civil companies working with the armed forces, 40 of which are Egyptian companies working in the field of roads, 5 of which are working in the field of construction, industrial works, bridges, tunnels, culverts, fuel stations as well as toll gates and the rest of the 8 companies operating in Ras Abu Daraj in the tourist resort that overlooks the Gulf of Suez, with a 15,000 workers, technicians and engineers.
The project was launched within the framework of comprehensive plans to support the country's capacities so as to promote and develop the economy and raise growth rates. It would provide millions of job opportunities for Egyptian youth and opportunities for local and foreign investments. This would be achieved after providing the proper infrastructure and constructing the strategic roads and axes linking all the governorates of the Republic and even linking Egypt to the African countries.
The Project Includes:
1 – International Galala City
2- El-Galala Resort
3- King Abdullah Bin Abdel Aziz University
4- Ain El-Sokhna – Zafarana Road
5- Industrial Zone

International Galala City is located on El-Galala plateau - between Ain El-Sokhna and Zafarana - at an altitude of 700 meters from the sea surface area over 17,000 feddans.
The city is full of facilities and services with the finest qualities and contains an international medical city, the first Olympic village for hosting sports events, tourist, residential areas as well as other areas for those on low-income in agreement with the Ministry of Housing and service areas for the residents of the city.
- The resort is located on the shore of the Gulf of Suez - Ras Abu Daraj area - over 1000 feddans that can be enlarged.
- The resort overlooks the mountain from one side and the coast from the other. The former consists of 300 rooms and 40 chalets, while the latter includes 300 rooms and 60 chalets, in addition to rooms and suites of various levels. It also includes a modern mall that will be linked to a 17-km road, an aerial tramway, extending over 6 km, that is designed and supervised by a French company and implemented by an Egyptian company, a city of water games and a marina for yachts carried out by major international companies.
- The tourist resort project has started since October 2015 and most of the resort will be finalized in April 2016, except for the hotel overlooking the mountain and the marina whose designs are ready to be implemented. The resort will be finalized by 2017.
- A desalination plant with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters will be established to serve the tourist resort, in addition to providing the resort with electricity.
King Abdullah University is being built on an area of 100 feddans in the International Galala City.
The university will be based on the latest scientific systems and modern methods. It will include advanced faculties that are needed by the Egyptian society in non-stereotypical specialties and are not available in ordinary universities. It will not include faculties like commerce and law; however, there will be colleges for modern agriculture, solar and wind power generation and mining, in addition to the Faculty of Medicine.
The El-Sokhna-Zafarana road is a huge challenge as it is considered one of the most difficult projects implemented or supervised by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces for it is located in a stiff mountainous area with the heavy rock blocks. Through special equipment planted in the mountains, very large altitudes of 230 meters, equivalent to the building of 70 or 80 stores, were destructed; thanks to the military engineers who have broad experience in this area and are able to conquer and destroy the rocks.
The road construction is carried out according to the highest standards of accuracy and caution so as not to affect the geological environment and to make use of the rocks that were destroyed, especially that there are about 120 million cubic meters of remnants are used to build an embankment.
The new industrial zone includes the construction of a giant plant for phosphate fertilizer and its derivatives, with a production capacity of one million tons per year. It is planned and designed by the National Service Project of the Armed Forces. It will have a distinguished location and a tunnel under the main road to serve the transportation and production processes. The plant is designed with modern technologies aim to reduce the consumption of gas. In coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, the energy needed to run this giant project will be provided through the development of Ataqa power station.
El-Mahager area will be developed and made use of, given that it contains all kinds of important stone raw materials. Along El-Galala road, there are marble mountains that produce the world-wide well-known "El-Galala Marble", which is exported. Moreover, there is Kaolin in the region and it is used in the cement and glass sand industries.
- The project includes the construction of a desalination plant with a capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters to serve the touristic resort: El-Telema station. It is located in the International city of Galala, in the south of the resort directly. The Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces establishes three desalination plants. The first is in the resort of Galala with a capacity of 150 thousand meters/day. The second is in Alamein and the third is in east of Port Said in the area of Baluza with the same capacity of the first station. In addition, the station will be established with a capacity of 80,000 cubic meters per day in El-Gharqa and another station with a capacity of 48,000 cubic meters per day will be established in Marsa Matrouh.
