Today in New El Alamein City, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, on the sidelines of the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said President El-Sisi welcomed the Ghanaian President, offering his congratulations on Ghana's selection to assume the Chairmanship of the African Union in 2027. The President affirmed Egypt's commitment to close cooperation and coordination with Ghana during its upcoming chairmanship, thereby advancing joint African action and serving the interests of the continent's peoples.

President El-Sisi lauded the deeply rooted historical and political relations between the two brotherly nations and peoples. The President confirmed Egypt's keenness on further strengthening frameworks of bilateral cooperation across an array of fields, particularly economic, trade, and investment domains, to advance mutual interests and support development efforts in both countries.

The President emphasized the necessity to capitalize on the growing capabilities of the private sector in the two countries, commending the remarkable expansion of Egyptian companies operating in Ghana and the support provided by its government to bolster their success and scale up their investments.
