President El-Sisi Participates in Open Session of BRICS Summit 2026 in New Delhi

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, India.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the meeting addressed the full spectrum of Egyptian-Indonesian relations, particularly following the signing of the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries in April 2025.
The two presidents exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, mainly the Iranian war. They emphasized prioritizing the diplomatic path to reach a peaceful solution and stressed the importance of upholding freedom of navigation in international maritime corridors. Regarding the Palestinian issue, both presidents affirmed its status as the central issue in the region and stressed the need for a just settlement based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions that ensure the establishment of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. They also underscored rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their land and emphasized the necessity of implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, and halting practices against Palestinians in the West Bank.
