Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New Delhi, India, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's unwavering support for efforts to restore stability in the region. The President stressed that Egypt looked to Iran to exert all possible efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach a comprehensive, sustainable and peaceful settlement to the crisis, thereby safeguarding the sovereignty of the region's countries and protecting the resources of their people. The President also emphasized the imperative of halting all aggression against Arab states, in order to uphold the principles of good neighborliness and strengthen the historical and cultural ties that bind the peoples of the region.
