President El-Sisi Meets President of Equatorial Guinea

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, on the sidelines of the Seventh Mid-Year Coordination Summit Meeting of the African Union Summit, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the two Presidents reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and explored broader prospects for cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors as well as energy, infrastructure, and industry, in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries.

President El-Sisi lauded Equatorial Guinea's hosting of the Coordination Summit, which reflects a commitment to joint African action. The President of Equatorial Guinea commended Egypt's pivotal role in the continent and within the African Union.

The two Presidents discussed ways to achieve continental integration in various fields. The meeting also focused on ways to enhance continental stability and ensure continental peace and security in order to advance development efforts.
