Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held a meeting with commanders of the Armed Forces, civil police, and various security apparatuses at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Abdel Mageed Saqr; Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfik; Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa; Director of the General Intelligence Service, Mr. Hassan Rashad, as well as governors and senior military commanders.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the meeting focused on current developments on both the regional and international arenas and their ramifications on Egypt’s national security. It also reviewed efforts exerted by the Armed Forces, civil police, and security apparatuses in safeguarding Egypt’s borders and internal front against various threats from all strategic directions, in light of the ongoing turbulent events in the region.
President El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt's possession of power and strength guarantee its ability to protect the security and safety of its people’s resources. The President affirmed that Egypt is closely monitoring the regional and international developments, grounded in the fundamentals of Egypt’s foreign policy. Those are based on balance and moderation necessary for addressing the successive events and changes, and working toward ending crises and sparing the region from sliding into new conflicts, threatening the stability of countries in the region.
President El-Sisi underscored the importance of boosting the capabilities of all state institutions and their apparatuses. He reiterated the pivotal role of the Armed Forces and civil police in safeguarding the homeland, driven by a deep belief in their sacred duty to protect Egypt and its great people, regardless of the sacrifices involved.
President El-Sisi pointed out that the current circumstances have proven that the awareness and unity of the Egyptian people are the fundamental guarantees for overcoming regional crises and surrounding threats.
