President El-Sisi Meets with the Amir of the State of Kuwait

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah, at Bayan Palace. The two countries' delegations attended the meeting, which came at the conclusion of the President's state visit to the State of Kuwait.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the meeting included an expanded session attended by the delegations of both countries, followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders. The two sides later attended a luncheon hosted by His Highness the Amir in honor of President El-Sisi. 

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah welcomed President El-Sisi on his state visit to Kuwait. The Amir stressed that the visit reflects the depth of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, and represents an opportunity to continue strengthening cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic and investment sectors. His Highness the Amir also expressed appreciation for Egypt's historical and pivotal role in the development and growth of the Gulf states, and in achieving regional stability.

President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality, conveying deep gratitude to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah. 

The President emphasized Egypt's pride in its close historical relations with Kuwait, and commended the progress and prosperity that Kuwait is witnessing under the leadership of His Highness the Amir. 

President El-Sisi also affirmed Egypt's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait in all areas, particularly in the economic field, and to increase the volume of trade and investment between the two countries, in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, primarily the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip. President El-Sisi and Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, underscored the imperative of an immediate and urgent ceasefire, the continued exchange of hostages and detainees as well as providing unfettered access for humanitarian aid in sufficient quantities. They affirmed their absolute support for the Arab Plan for recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of its immediate implementation once a ceasefire is enforced. The two leaders also reiterated their unequivocal rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land and emphasized the crucial necessity for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, through the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The meeting also focused on developments in Syria and Sudan. President El-Sisi and the Amir of Kuwait affirmed their support for the unity and stability of the two countries, as well as the legitimate government in Yemen. They confirmed the vital importance of the security and stability of navigation in the Red Sea and the waterways of the region.
