The President also gave directives for the rapid announcement of a guarantee price for the supply of corn, soybeans and sunflowers to increase their production, particularly crops in the feed industry, thereby reducing import and contributing to the regulation of prices.
The President was also briefed on developments pertinent to the implementation of a number of food security projects, particularly efforts to develop Egyptian livestock
breeds to enhance their meat and dairy production, through IVF centres and genetic improvement lines. This is in addition to establishing advanced dairy collection centres nationwide and supporting them by means of laboratory testing, storage and veterinary services. President El-Sisi gave directives to rely on using modern techniques in agriculture and genetic engineering and maximising the use of scientific research to increase production and reduce cost, given the positive return in the interest of breeders and farmers. This is in addition to meeting citizens' needs for local production of meat and dairy, thereby supporting intensified efforts to achieve food security in Egypt.
