“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”

Greetings to the media.

Your Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan,
President of the sisterly United Republic of Tanzania,

Allow me to call you a sister. I extend to you my deepest appreciation, respect, and pride, as well as Egypt's full support for you and for the Tanzanian people.

Ladies and gentlemen,

At the outset, I would like to express my great pleasure at being in your sisterly country. I also extend my sincere appreciation to Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
I also seize this opportunity to express my profound appreciation for the fraternal ties between Egypt and Tanzania, which are rooted in longstanding historical bonds. These relations have always been based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation across a wide range of fields.

Ladies and gentlemen,

We are all aware of the distinct bonds between our two brotherly peoples, which span centuries of shared history, cultural, and societal interaction. These enduring ties have laid the foundation for a successful strategic partnership between our two countries.
Our shared political will and determination have enabled us to elevate cooperation to an unprecedented level over the past few years, both within bilateral frameworks and at the level of political consultation, prior coordination, bridging views, and aligning visions on various regional and international issues.

Today, I held fruitful and constructive talks with Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. Our discussions reflected our shared keenness to strengthen the strategic partnership between our two countries across various fields, in a manner that allows for the optimal utilization of our capabilities to serve the interests of our two peoples.

Today's meeting with Her Excellency the President provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit and to support common development. In particular, we discussed advancing all aspects of our economic cooperation, including increasing trade, encouraging mutual investment, and expanding cooperation with the participation of the private sector in a number of vital and promising economic sectors, such as construction, roads, maritime transport and ports, logistics zones, electricity and energy, agriculture, land reclamation and irrigation, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

During my discussions with Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, I emphasized our aspiration to leverage the remarkable success achieved by Egyptian companies in constructing the massive Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project. We aim to open up more Tanzanian development projects to our national companies. We also seek to capitalize on the significant assets currently available in Tanzania and the extensive expertise our companies have accumulated, thereby strengthening our capacity for joint action, achieving further accomplishments, and elevating our relations to the level we both aspire to.

To this end, I have given directives to intensify the transfer of Egyptian expertise, the provision of technical support, and the expansion of training and capacity-building programs to develop the capacities of national cadres in Tanzania across various sectors and fields, thereby unlocking the full potential of our promising relationship.

We also discussed opportunities to launch an agricultural land reclamation project in Tanzania aimed at enhancing food security for both countries and meeting domestic needs for essential and strategic crops. This is while working to expand the scope of this project in successive phases, and transitioning it into an export stage.

I also reiterated our readiness to engage in the expansion and development of the Port of Dar es Salaam, while emphasizing the importance of integrating the port's development plan into a broader vision for regional logistics corridors linking it with neighboring countries.

We further discussed a proposal to establish a maritime shipping line connecting the ports of Safaga and Dar es Salaam, as well as creating a multimodal corridor linking Cairo and Dar es Salaam through the implementation of a number of joint development projects.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I expressed to Her Excellency the President our appreciation for the positive and balanced stances adopted by the United Republic of Tanzania on a number of regional issues of common interest to our brotherly countries.
In this regard, I affirmed my interest to further strengthen Tanzania's positive and constructive role in promoting the spirit of understanding and cooperation among brotherly Nile Basin river partners.

We also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest, foremost of which are the situations in the Middle East, the Horn of Africa, and the Red Sea, as well as ways to enhance collective African action. We agreed to maintain coordination and consultation between our countries on various topics of common interest.

Your Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan,

It has been a great pleasure meeting with you today, and I look forward to further strengthening the close cooperation between our two countries in a manner that serves our mutual interests and those of our precious African continent.

I wish Tanzania and its brotherly people continued prosperity, stability, and progress.

Once again, I extend my deepest gratitude to you for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. Thank you very much.
