Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with CEO of Concentrix, a leading American company in outsourcing services, business operations, and call centers, Mr. Christopher Caldwell. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat ; CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Eng. Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said that President El-Sisi commended the company’s expansion in Egypt, confirming that this expansion aligns with the state’s focus on enhancing infrastructure in the fields of communications and information technology.
President El-Sisi noted that the state has launched several training and qualification programs to foster and develop the digital workforce, particularly among young people, to qualify them to work in companies operating in communications- and information technology- related sectors. The President stressed the state’s commitment to providing a package of investment incentives to attract both international and local companies to operate in Egypt, with the aim of improving the level of services offered and increasing the competitiveness of the outsourcing industry, as part of the "Digital Egypt" strategy.
The meeting also reviewed the company’s plans for expansion in Egypt, including increasing the number of employees at the company's branches across various governorates, creating numerous job opportunities in the sector, and opening new branches in all governorates. This will contribute to achieving the country’s ambitious goals in developing and advancing the communications sector, in turning Egypt into a global hub for digital services. Additionally, it will help expand the volume of outsourcing service exports, which involve foreign companies opening specialized centers in Egypt and employing Egyptian specialists to provide digital services to their clients outside Egypt.
The CEO of Concentrix commended the significant progress in Egypt’s communications and information technology sector, expressing his appreciation for the Egyptian State’s efforts in digital transformation and in providing an environment conducive to attracting international companies.
Mr. Caldwell emphasized his company’s keenness on benefiting from the opportunities Egypt offers for the outsourcing industry, particularly in the development of the technological infrastructure and the availability of digital skills. He noted that the number of employees at the company in Egypt had increased from 150 specialists in 2009 to 20,000 specialists currently. Thus, the company in Egypt has now the largest outsourcing center in Africa and the Middle East, with plans to expand the number of specialists to 35,000 by 2028.
